Trend Vision One granted FedRAMP approval for US market

Yesterday

Trend Micro has announced that its Trend Vision One for Government platform has received FedRAMP Authorisation to Operate (ATO).

This authorisation serves as a recognition of Trend Micro's compliance with strict cybersecurity standards set by FedRAMP, which aligns cloud service providers with US-based client services to both domestic and international expectations. This development is particularly significant for ANZ customers with US-based services, as it facilitates the alignment of their operations with FedRAMP's stringent standards.

FedRAMP, established in 2011, is a federal initiative designed to empower agencies to securely employ cloud technologies with operational agility, cost efficiency, and innovation. It applies National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards to standardise the security and risk assessments applicable to cloud technologies across federal agencies.

Martyn Beal, Federal Government Strategic Lead, Australia, Trend, stated, "FedRAMP sets the gold standard for customers and industry partners alike. With our platform now receiving FedRAMP Authorization, ANZ customers and cloud service providers with US-based client services can fully leverage Trend's unmatched threat intelligence and risk management capabilities. This enables customers to understand their environments, meet zero trust requirements, and innovate with security and confidence."

Achieving this FedRAMP ATO means that the US public sector has confidence in Trend Micro's capabilities to secure attack surfaces and manage cyber risks for government agencies, alongside their partners and suppliers. This further cements Trend Micro as a key enabler in the field of zero-trust security and compliance.

The Trend Vision One for Government platform aids government agencies by offering real-time attack tracking and fast response features. It is designed to enhance security teams' visibility and response capabilities across various environments, including hybrid architectures that span multiple cloud and on-premises settings.

The platform boasts integrated sensors and top-tier threat intelligence, which help agencies comprehensively understand their zero-trust architectures and align with demanding security requirements. It also includes dynamic detection models and proactive policy management to identify indicators of compromise (IOCs) that might be overlooked by other platforms, enhancing government clients' defence mechanisms.

Trend Micro is committed to ensuring data privacy and transparency in information collection. Data processing under the FedRAMP authorisation will remain within the United States, and data will be segregated from the commercial Trend Micro cloud. Access will only be granted to analysts with adequate security clearance, in adherence to FedRAMP requirements.

Established in 2011, the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program is a government-wide initiative designed to empower agencies to securely use advanced cloud technologies for greater operational agility, cost efficiency and innovation. FedRAMP standardises security and risk assessment for cloud technologies and federal agencies, using highly transparent National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards and guidelines.
