Securonix has expanded its partnership with Orient Technologies in India, making Orient its exclusive value-added distributor in the country.

Orient will also serve as a key routing technology partner across India and the US, broadening a relationship that had previously focused on its role as a managed security service provider partner. The arrangement is intended to deepen Securonix's presence in India and expand its reach into the country's mid-market segment.

Orient, which the companies described as an approximately USD $85 million technology business, plans to invest USD $5 million in the partnership over the next two years. It is also expanding its cybersecurity delivery capabilities through a security operations centre of excellence in Mumbai and plans to hire about 100 cybersecurity professionals.

The move comes as technology suppliers seek a larger share of demand from Indian companies adopting artificial intelligence tools while trying to manage the security risks tied to those systems. For cybersecurity vendors, local services, implementation support, and operational expertise have become central to winning business beyond large enterprises.

Under the arrangement, Orient will support customers and regional partners across the security operations lifecycle, including implementation and integration services, professional services, ongoing technical support, and support for security operations centres.

The partnership will extend beyond initial deployment work. Orient is expected to help customers and partners run and refine their Securonix environments, while building the internal skills and processes needed for day-to-day security operations.

India push

The expanded tie-up gives Securonix a more formal route into India through a local distributor with services capabilities. It also gives Orient a larger role in selling and supporting Securonix products in both India and the US.

The companies aim to increase their customer footprint by 12%, though they did not disclose a target number of customers or expected revenue from the expanded arrangement.

Securonix is positioning the partnership around demand for tools that help security teams detect, investigate, and respond to threats while introducing artificial intelligence into their workflows with closer oversight. The company says its platform combines those functions in a cloud-native setup built around a human-in-the-loop approach.

That message reflects a wider debate in cybersecurity over how far AI should be trusted in core defensive work. Many businesses are under pressure to improve the speed of their security teams but remain cautious about handing critical decisions to automated systems without governance and human review.

Toby Weiss, Chief Executive Officer of Securonix, described the company's view of the market shift.

"AI is changing the operating environment for security teams on both sides of the equation. Adversaries have access to tools that can help them move faster, while enterprises are under pressure to use AI responsibly to improve their own defenses," said Toby Weiss, Chief Executive Officer of Securonix.

"Our expanded partnership with Orient Technologies gives customers in India access to Securonix technology alongside the local expertise required to deploy it effectively, integrate it into existing environments, and build security operations that can evolve as those threats change," Weiss said.

Distribution role

For Orient, the agreement marks a shift from service partner to exclusive distributor in India. That makes the company central to Securonix's route to market in the country, while also linking it with regional channel partners that may need technical and operational support to deliver projects.

The expansion of Orient's cybersecurity team in Mumbai suggests it is preparing for a more labour-intensive role that goes beyond software resale. Security operations work often depends on round-the-clock monitoring, incident handling, and ongoing tuning of customer environments, all of which require local staff with specialist skills.

Ajay Sawant, Chairman & Managing Director of Orient Technologies, said the partnership had already gathered pace.

"Our collaboration with Securonix over the past several months has given rise to strong momentum," said Ajay Sawant, Chairman & Managing Director of Orient Technologies Limited.

"By combining Securonix's AI-powered security platform with our managed security expertise, we are enabling organizations to build more resilient and efficient Security Operations Centres across India and the US," Sawant said.

Sawant also outlined the companies' commercial aim.

"Our shared goal is to expand our customer footprint by 12%, strengthening our managed security services portfolio. This expanded partnership will help customers achieve measurable improvements in response times, analyst productivity, and overall operational efficiency," Sawant said.

The agreement also strengthens Securonix's channel structure in India by putting one partner in charge of connecting with regional resellers and enterprise customers, while also providing implementation and support expertise.
