N-able integrates Adlumin for Microsoft 365 breach prevention

Mon, 14th Apr 2025

N-able has announced an expansion of its Microsoft Cloud management and security capabilities by integrating Adlumin Breach Prevention for Microsoft 365 into its Ecoverse platform.

The integration aims to bolster IT infrastructure security by countering issues such as account takeovers, credential theft, and unauthorised access. The Adlumin solution enhances existing services by analysing Microsoft 365 telemetry data to detect anomalies through machine learning, providing early threat detection.

Robert Johnston, General Manager at Adlumin, part of N-able, commented on the threat of identity-based cyberattacks. He stated, "Cybercriminals are increasingly targeting identities, and these identity-based attacks are happening more than you think. This isn't a choice. Businesses need flexible, effective security solutions to survive. Adlumin Breach Prevention for Microsoft 365 allows businesses of all sizes to help defend with proactive threat detection and remediation, from anomalies to suspicious behaviour, triggering automated responses to help contain the threat."

The reliance on Microsoft 365 as a crucial productivity tool for organisations globally highlights the need for comprehensive end-to-end security strategies. With various assets such as Microsoft Entra, SharePoint, Teams, Exchange Online, Intune, and virtual machines, including Azure and Windows 365 Virtual Desktops, businesses necessitate a fortified approach to managing and securing these resources effectively.

Adlumin Breach Prevention complements N-able's existing suite of solutions designed for Microsoft 365. These include Complete Microsoft 365 backup for business continuity, Supercharged Windows 365 management from a single console, Seamless Microsoft 365 and Entra ID Management for continuous security monitoring, and Enhanced Microsoft 365 email security to guard against various email threats.

Mike Adler, Chief Technology and Product Officer at N-able, elaborated on the integration: "A unified platform is more than just about integrating tools—it's about creating an ecosystem where solutions work harmoniously together to create a secure, reliable environment. With these continued innovations and strategic investments within the N-able Ecoverse, IT providers gain the tools to prevent breaches, safeguard critical data, and streamline Microsoft 365 management. This approach delivers stronger organisational cyber resilience—reducing operational silos and streamlining workflows via a 'security-first' model designed for the Microsoft Cloud."

Incorporating machine-learning models to establish baseline user behaviours, Adlumin Breach Prevention immediately addresses potential threats with a dynamic response system that aligns with the threat's severity level. This development addresses attacks bypassing traditional endpoint and network security, which increasingly focus on cloud identities to gain unauthorised access.

N-able aims to protect businesses against evolving cyber threats, providing a unified platform with management, security, and recovery capabilities. This integration supports their objective of enhancing business resilience against increasing cyber activities targeting cloud services.
