AppOmni wins Frost & Sullivan award for SSPM innovation

Thu, 14th Dec 2023

Global analyst firm, Frost & Sullivan, has formally recognised Software as a Service (SaaS) specialist, AppOmni, as the Company of the Year for its industry leadership in Security Posture Management (SSPM).

The commendation comes from AppOmni's approach in tackling cyber security issues across both core and custom SaaS applications, filling a crucial gap in the market, the analysts state.

A distinguishing feature of AppOmni's offering is its unique, agentless SSPM platform. This innovative technology utilises application programming interfaces (APIs) to achieve visibility into SaaS applications, an approach that according to Frost & Sullivan, "ensures scalability, identity governance, and control, going beyond traditional perimeters."

In addition to this, AppOmni's platform allows clients to set rules for data access, sharing, and third-party applications. As such, customers are equipped with robust capabilities for identifying misconfiguration risks and receiving guidance for remediation steps should a cybersecurity risk be detected.

Ying Ting Neoh, a research analyst at Frost & Sullivan, detailed the firm's observations, stating, "Compared to other market participants that adopt an endpoint and network-based approach that are ineffective in addressing the associated SaaS cyber risks, including over-privileged end-users and unmonitored SaaS-to-SaaS connections, AppOmni addresses these SSPM use cases comprehensively."

This recognition is not only a measure of the company's innovative technology but also its growth and agility in the dynamic cybersecurity landscape. David Frigstad, Chairman of Frost & Sullivan, noted, "This recognition signifies an even greater accomplishment as AppOmni consolidates its leadership position through innovation and growth, creating new products, solutions, and services that meet ever-evolving customer needs."

AppOmni's commitment to a comprehensive approach to security aligns with industry best practices, and this recognition is indicative of the company's standing in the sector. Mr. Frigstad further added, “AppOmni's SSPM offering tackles critical cybersecurity issues associated with SaaS, such as misconfigurations, data breaches, and identity and account theft."

Brendan O'Connor, CEO and co-founder of AppOmni, expressed his gratitude for the recognition. He said, "It validates our commitment to providing a new and much deeper level of visibility and threat detection, ensuring our customers have the most advanced protection possible."

The impressive performance of the company is reflected in various areas, including its triple-digit annual recurring revenue growth over the past three years and the successful expansion with partnerships globally, particularly in North America, EMEA, and Asia-Pacific. Furthermore, AppOmni has demonstrated a stellar customer-centric approach with a remarkable 90% customer retention rate, highlighting its ability to establish trust and loyalty within the global SSPM market.

Overall, the vision, innovation, exceptional customer service and the comprehensive SSPM offering that distinguishes AppOmni in the market, led the firm to earn the prestigious award. With a new era in SaaS security being driven by companies like AppOmni, organisations can now secure their SaaS ecosystems effectively in the ever-evolving digital landscape, the company states.
