Acceldata launches xFactory for governed private AI

Acceldata has launched xFactory, a private AI software factory for building AI agents, applications and analytics. The product is available through an early access programme for existing xLake customers.

Designed for hybrid enterprise environments, xFactory lets businesses create tested, governed AI software from business requests while keeping data in its existing location.

The launch targets large organisations that want to use AI on data spread across on-premises systems, cloud platforms, sovereign environments and edge locations. Acceldata argues that data quality, governance and access controls remain major barriers to moving AI projects from pilots into wider operational use.

xFactory runs on Acceldata's xLake platform, which manages data and AI workloads across different infrastructure. Rather than requiring companies to consolidate data into a single repository, the software is intended to let AI applications reach data where it already sits.

Data access

The launch reflects a wider debate in enterprise technology over how to apply AI to regulated and fragmented data estates. Many large companies have spent years assembling combinations of catalogues, governance tools, quality systems and orchestration software. Suppliers are now trying to package those functions into more unified products as AI systems place greater demands on data pipelines and controls.

xFactory includes more than 100 pre-built governed integrations for enterprise systems, including databases, customer relationship management, enterprise resource planning, IT service management and collaboration platforms. It also supports existing data stacks such as Apache Spark, Trino, Apache Kafka and the Hadoop ecosystem, while connecting in place to platforms including Snowflake and Databricks.

Through xLake, governance rules are enforced at runtime, with data quality, lineage, entitlements and sovereignty controls applied automatically as an agent or application runs. The approach is intended to address concerns in regulated industries over compliance and oversight when AI systems are given access to operational data.

Private AI deployments have become a growing area of interest for companies in sectors such as financial services, healthcare and insurance, where restrictions on data movement can limit the use of public AI services. Vendors have responded by offering systems that can operate across mixed infrastructure while supporting different model choices.

Acceldata says xFactory is built to work with multiple AI models and is aimed at customers that want to run AI across private or hybrid environments. Its customer base includes large businesses in regulated industries, though pricing for the new product was not disclosed.

Founder and Chief Executive Officer Rohit Choudhary said the launch is meant to remove a long-standing tension between AI deployment speed and data control.

"For years, enterprises faced a false choice: move fast with AI, or stay in control of their data. You could not have both. xFactory ends that tradeoff. Enterprises build agents, applications and analytics on their own governed data, where it lives, at the speed AI now moves," Choudhary said.

The company, founded in California in 2018, has focused on data operations, quality, observability and governance through its xLake platform. It says the platform operates across on-premises, cloud and sovereign environments as one runtime, with AI agents treated as governed workloads rather than separate tools sitting outside data controls.

The launch also highlights competition in AI infrastructure software as suppliers seek to win budgets not only for model access, but also for the systems that govern how enterprise data is prepared, accessed and monitored. For many customers, the challenge is less about choosing a model than establishing trusted data access and oversight across complex internal estates.

By packaging connectors, governance and execution support into one product, Acceldata is seeking a role in that layer of the market. xFactory allows enterprises to declare what they want to build from business intent rather than assembling the required tooling component by component.
