Westcon-Comstor & CrowdStrike extend cyber tech partnership to Southeast Asia
Thu, 15th Feb 2024

Global technology provider Westcon-Comstor has announced the expansion of its strategic partnership with CrowdStrike, a global cybersecurity leader, to Southeast Asia. This move signifies a broadening of the companies' existing relationship while also bolstering Westcon-Comstor's cybersecurity offerings in Southeast Asia.

The distribution agreement now covers Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand, with Westcon-Comstor facilitating faster adoption of CrowdStrike's industry-leading products in these countries, including next-generation security information and event management (SIEM) solutions. The decision to extend into the Asia-Pacific realm stems from the success the two companies have enjoyed in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.

Westcon-Comstor is a global technology provider and specialist distributor, operating in more than 70 countries. It delivers business value and opportunity by connecting the world’s leading IT vendors with a channel of technology resellers, systems integrators and service providers.

Westcon-Comstor began its affiliation with CrowdStrike in EMEA in early 2021 and has since seen an onboarding of over 500 new partners during the first two years. Consequently, it has propelled the company's revenues from this particular partnership beyond the US $100 million mark.

Patrick Aronson, the chief marketing officer and APAC executive vice president at Westcon-Comstor, shared his enthusiasm for this expanded alliance, stating, "We are excited to join forces with CrowdStrike to bring their innovative cybersecurity solutions to our partners in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand.” He further emphasized that “this partnership aligns with our commitment to provide our partners and customers with best-in-class technologies to address the ever-changing threat landscape and ensure the protection of digital assets."

Aronson also expressed his delight in making CrowdStrike’s AI-native Falcon XDR platform more readily accessible to organisations across the three countries via Westcon-Comstor’s large channel partner network. This comes amid growing demand for advanced threat protection across Southeast Asia and heightened interest in next-gen SIEM solutions.

The synergy of Westcon-Comstor’s cybersecurity distribution expertise and CrowdStrike’s leading market solutions is expected to generate new opportunities for channel partners across the three new markets. This will, in turn, afford end-users more robust safeguarding against evolving cyber threats.

Commenting on the progressive collaboration, Girish Gargeshwari, Channel Director, Asia, CrowdStrike affirmed, "As we continue to expand our partner ecosystem regionally, it is critical for both CrowdStrike and our customers that we are aligned with a leading global distributor like Westcon-Comstor in this region to tap into their distribution expertise and channel reach.” He also voiced his anticipation for their alliance with Westcon-Comstor to become an even more strategic collaboration on the horizon.
