SpeakUp launches Sienna Insights for compliance teams
Tue, 7th Jul 2026 (Today)
SpeakUp has launched Sienna Insights, an analytics product for ethics and compliance teams that expands its Sienna AI suite.
The tool lets compliance officers query live case data in plain language and receive answers in seconds, alongside shareable visualisations. It also helps users detect patterns across cases, regions and issue types, and review the full history of individual cases.
The launch builds on a set of AI tools SpeakUp has introduced since 2024. Those tools already cover anonymous reporting through an AI voice agent, translation, summarisation, triage and anonymisation. The latest release extends the software further into reporting and investigation work.
SpeakUp sells ethics and compliance software used by more than 750 companies, including BMW, Nestle and Randstad, and says its platform reaches more than 10 million individuals worldwide. It positions Sienna Insights as a way to reduce the manual work involved in compiling reports and reviewing large volumes of case information.
Reporting burden
The move comes as companies face pressure to improve productivity while managing a growing compliance workload. Research cited by SpeakUp from Thomson Reuters Institute found that reporting tasks were the factor most often identified by C-suite leaders as limiting teams' ability to contribute to wider business objectives, with 68% saying the burden was significant or moderate.
Another survey from Deloitte found that two-thirds of organisations were already seeing productivity and efficiency gains from AI. The same study found that half of respondents ranked legal and regulatory compliance among their top concerns linked to AI.
That tension has created an opening for software suppliers offering AI tools built for tightly controlled workflows rather than general consumer use. In compliance and HR functions, staff often handle sensitive records, internal allegations and regulated processes, making off-the-shelf AI tools difficult to use.
SpeakUp says Sienna Insights is built to reflect an organisation's own terminology, industry specifics and internal priorities. Companies can adjust the system so its analysis reflects the language and categories used in their compliance programme rather than a standard model.
The product also extends into case-level work. SpeakUp says users can examine a case's history, identify related incidents and generate interview questions based on information already held in the system.
Chief Technology Officer Arun Yadava outlined the reasoning behind the launch.
"Sienna Insights is a direct response to something we kept hearing: compliance officers spending hours preparing the same reports, manually pulling data that was already sitting in their platform. That should not be how their time is spent. Sienna Insights removes that burden," Yadava said.
Broader strategy
The release also fits into a wider plan to build more AI functions into investigations. SpeakUp says many compliance teams still gather evidence across separate systems, assemble timelines manually and draft final reports from scratch, with results varying depending on who handles the case.
Some teams are already testing general-purpose AI products for parts of that work, but concerns remain over the sensitivity of the material and the regulatory standards governing internal investigations. SpeakUp argues that those constraints make specialist products more suitable.
Its planned investigation workspace is intended to bring evidence into a single case record, support interview preparation and produce a first draft of a final report. SpeakUp says the work is aimed at reducing inconsistencies in investigations and allowing staff to spend more time on judgement rather than administration.
Chief Executive Officer Tim Morss said customer demand had centred on the growing complexity of compliance work and the limits of existing tools.
"We talk to ethics and compliance teams constantly, and the pattern is consistent: the work keeps getting more complex, and most tools are not keeping up. Sienna AI is our commitment to closing that gap, feature by feature. What we build next is designed around the moments where investigators and compliance officers need the most support. That focus does not change," Morss said.
Sienna Insights is now available within the SpeakUp platform.
