Radware enhances security for major Indian airport

Today

Radware has announced an agreement to provide cloud application and network security services to a major airport in India following a rise in cyber threats.

This development is part of an expanded relationship, with the airport already utilising Radware's Alteon application delivery controller. The airport, among the busiest in India, connects to more than 30 countries and 20 airlines, handling over 10 million passengers per year.

Radware's Cloud DDoS Protection and Cloud Application Protection Services were chosen due to their capability to automatically detect and mitigate large-scale HTTPS floods, known as Web DDoS attacks, without disrupting legitimate traffic. Such attacks have reportedly increased globally by 265% between the latter half of 2023 and the early part of 2024, according to Radware's H1 2024 Global Threat Analysis Report.

"Cyberattacks against airports have become favoured particularly among hacktivist collectives because of the high-profile chaos they create for victims," said Nikhil Karan Taneja, Radware's Vice President and Managing Director for India, the Middle East, and South Asia. "With the rising demand for air travel, airports are under even more pressure to protect their digital infrastructures from emerging threats, while delivering uninterrupted services for airlines and passengers. Radware's one-stop cloud security solutions are game changers for time-strapped security teams, providing powerful tools to scale their capabilities and automate their defences."

Radware's cloud protection services are supported by a global network comprising over 50 cloud security service centres with more than 15Tbps of mitigation capacity. This network aims to reduce traffic latency, enhance service redundancy, and ensure compliance with offshore data routing requirements.

The AI-powered Cloud DDoS Protection Service by Radware is designed to identify and block malicious Web DDoS and network attacks using advanced behavioural algorithms. This technology not only combats DDoS attacks but also secures network performance and availability during such incidents.

Additionally, Radware's Cloud Application Protection Service offers application protection through its WAF, bot detection and management, API protection, client-side protection, and application-layer DDoS protection. This solution employs end-to-end automation, AI-powered algorithms, and behavioural-based detection to minimise false positives while maximising application security.

Radware is recognised within the industry, with accolades from analysts such as Aite-Novarica Group, Forrester Research, Gartner, GigaOm, IDC, KuppingerCole, and Quadrant Knowledge Solutions, affirming its standing in cybersecurity markets.
