Appdome, a specialist provider of mobile app defence systems, has announced it has entered into a new partnership with Atlassian to automate the delivery of secure mobile applications.
According to the company, Appdome will now enhance the Cybersecurity Infrastructural Continuous Integration & Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) service provided by Atlassian Bamboo. This new collaboration will facilitate teams to code, build, authenticate, test, and sign Appdome-protected mobile applications directly from the Bamboo CI/CD platform. The development forms part of the Appdome Dev2Cyber Agility Partner Initiative, which aims to help secure mobile app delivery worldwide.
Undergoing manual methods for integrating point products for obfuscation, Runtime Application Self-Protection (RASP), anti-tampering and other mobile app defences are taxing, resource-intensive, and inconsistent. To simplify the process, Appdome utilises machine learning and automation through its Unified Mobile App Defence platform to build and validate cybersecurity defences in mobile apps. The new Appdome and Atlassian CI/CD Plug-In will bring these defences, including RASP, code obfuscation, mobile data encryption, Man-in-the-Middle attack prevention, amongst others to Atlassian Bamboo customers. Consequently, users will now be able to automate the entire lifecycle of any of Appdome's 300+ mobile app defences, as well as easily maintain pace with current DevOps pipelines.
"Atlassian Bamboo is a key global benchmark in eliminating complexities in the DevOps pipeline," observed Tom Tovar, Co-Creator and Chief Executive Officer of Appdome. He stated, "Our new plug-in capitalises on our belief that cyber, anti-fraud, anti-bot and other defences should be developed and delivered in lines with conventional engineering processes.
"We intend to make the most of CI/CD automation and system-to-system integration to fast-track mobile app releases effectively and efficiently," Tovar said.
Recent surveys have indicated a high demand for more secure mobile app experiences amongst global consumers. 94% of surveyed global consumers declared their willingness to promote brands that safeguard their mobile apps against security, fraud, and malware threats. Moreover, 68% indicated they would sever connections with brands that did not provide enough protection.
Noting this trend, Karen Hsu, Senior Vice President of Mobile DevOps and Security Solutions at Atlassian, stated, "Atlassian Bamboo exists to fast-track the mobile app development lifecycle.
"Thus, an integration with Appdome becomes crucial for mobile app brands and their development teams seeking to infuse security protections in their mobile apps on demand," Hsu said.
"Our partnership with Appdome will allow users to integrate 300+ app defences into their mobile apps as part of any release."
