Zyxel Networks wins 2024 award for firewall innovation

Zyxel Networks has been recognised with the 2024 Cyber Security Award for Innovation for its USG FLEX 200HP Security Firewall.

The accolade, presented by the Taipei Computer Association, honours cybersecurity solutions that bolster global digital resilience and highlight Taiwan's capabilities in the field of cybersecurity on the world stage. Zyxel Networks was one of six companies to receive this recognition.

The USG FLEX 200HP firewall integrates Security-as-a-Service (SECaaS) technologies, offering cloud-based AI security solutions. Features of the firewall include sandboxing, antivirus and malware protection, DNS/IP/URL filtering, intrusion prevention, and application inspection, providing a comprehensive defence mechanism.

This firewall is equipped with multi-core processors, DPDK Fast Path technology, 2.5GbE ports, and PoE+ connectivity, which enhances its performance significantly. Zyxel Networks' Nebula Cloud Management supports the firewall, ensuring scalable management options for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).

Zyxel is the only networking brand that has achieved the dual Provider Acceptance Level as a CVE Numbering Authority (CNA) for 2024. This status, recognised by the U.S. government's National Vulnerability Database, indicates Zyxel's security analysis is on par with data provided by NVD analysts in terms of transparency and thoroughness.

The company has also made strides by becoming the first Taiwanese enterprise to sign the Secure by Design pledge of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). This pledge represents Zyxel's commitment to making security a core element of its product development process.

This award, previously known as the Computex Best Choice Cyber Security Award, is overseen by Taiwan's National Security Council, National Science and Technology Council, and the Ministry of Digital Affairs. The selection process is rigorous and independent, focusing on identifying market-leading and innovative cybersecurity products from Taiwan. It utilises resources from the Taiwan Cybersecurity Alliance to promote Taiwan's AI, software, and cybersecurity sectors, aiming for trillion-dollar valuations by 2026.
