Global cybersecurity innovator Sophos has achieved the ranking of 'Leader' in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Modern Endpoint Security for Midsize Businesses 2024 Vendor Assessment, which gauges solutions and business strategies of 16 contemporary endpoint security vendors.

Sophos Endpoint caters to more than 300,000 organisations worldwide, providing robust defences against advanced attacks with features including anti-ransomware, anti-exploitation, behavioural analysis, and other technologies. This multi-faceted protection stops threats before they proliferate.

The IDC report particularly commends the company's broad range of standard features within its endpoint offering, such as host-based firewall and IDS/IPS, device control, DLP, and encryption. Furthermore, it appreciates Sophos's robust lineup of features such as the customer security advisory alongside an account health-check feature that helps to detect and remediate security configuration drift.

Additional praise is given for the inclusion of several new capabilities like the adaptive attack protection, critical attack warning, data protection, and recovery, all working to further minimize risk levels.

IDC's report underlines Sophos' adaptive attack protection as a "disruption of hands-on-keyboard attackers while minimizing potential disruption to legitimate operations". Additionally, it emphasises the need for organisations to prepare for the increasing prevalence of ransomware attacks, by noting the importance of Sophos' ability to recover swiftly from such attacks.
