Gallagher's 2025 report highlights evolving security trends

Today

Gallagher Security has released its Security Industry Trends Report 2025, focusing on evolving security system priorities and the role of human factors in business operations globally.

The latest report from Gallagher Security emphasises the importance of human elements alongside technological advancements in the security industry. Insights gathered from End Users, Channel Partners, and Consultants point to increasing demands for trusted partnerships and systems that align with broader business objectives.

Mark Junge, Chief Executive of Gallagher Security, highlights a shift in perception regarding business security.

"The speed of change in our industry has never been greater," says Junge. "However, what stands out in this year's report is a shift in how businesses view security - not just as protection, but as a tool for fostering trust, operational efficiency, and data-driven insights. These findings challenge us to ask, 'What if security is capable of so much more?'"

The report underscores the growing significance of technology and relationship interplays, presenting several pivotal trends.

A significant trend identified is the prioritisation of trusted relationships. End Users cited trust, support, and robust partnerships as critical factors in selecting security solutions. The findings suggest that human connections are a competitive differentiator, encouraging security vendors to enhance collaboration and responsiveness.

Usability also emerges as a central focus. As security systems grow more integrated and complex, organisations are placing a premium on solutions that cater to the needs of non-technical staff.

The rising influence of IT departments is noted, particularly as cybersecurity and cloud technologies become more prevalent.

This development is leading IT teams to play a prominent role in decision-making, necessitating market education to address existing misconceptions.

Additionally, businesses are increasingly utilising security systems to achieve broader aims. The report reveals that 56% of End User respondents have strategies in place to enhance operational efficiencies through their security systems.

Junge comments on the evolving demands businesses have for their security systems: "We're seeing businesses rethink what they need from their security systems. It's about more than features; it's about choosing the right partner to navigate these challenges together and unlock greater possibilities. By focusing on the people who interact with these systems, we're better positioned to foster trust and deliver lasting value."
