Bitget has published its third-quarter transparency report, showing combined trading volume of USD $1.86 trillion across its crypto and traditional trading businesses.

Monthly trading volume rose 21.2% between July and September. Crypto derivatives volume increased 31.5% to USD $409.19 billion, while crypto spot trading rose 65.7%. CFD trading climbed 39.7% to USD $376.32 billion during the quarter.

The figures suggest broader activity across products beyond digital assets alone, with CFD trading now its largest non-crypto category.

A key change during the quarter was the introduction of Bitget's Cross-Asset Unified Account. The system brings more than 370 eligible assets into a shared margin framework, including more than 100 tokenised US stocks.

Under the model, eligible tokenised equities can be used as collateral across different trading products. Collateral valuation ratios can reach 95%, according to the company.

Bitget also extended its GetAgent Playbook trading tools to tokenised US equities. Other additions included institutional pricing changes and Cash Plus, a stablecoin yield product.

Liquidity measures

External market data groups cited by the exchange pointed to stronger liquidity during the quarter. TokenInsight ranked Bitget first among nine exchanges for combined bitcoin and ether futures depth within 0.05% of market price, with USD $41.6 million in liquidity.

CoinGecko placed the platform among the leading exchanges for bitcoin and ether spot liquidity. In tokenised equities, CryptoRank found Bitget Reality recorded simulated slippage on USD $50,000 orders that was up to 58% lower than the next-lowest comparable venue.

DeFiLlama reported a median bid-ask spread of 0.83 basis points and the deepest top-of-book liquidity across the five markets it evaluated. Traders watch those measures closely because they can affect execution quality and transaction costs.

Security response

The quarter also included a security incident on September 24. Bitget said user account balances were unaffected and that it had put containment and recovery measures in place.

The exchange brought in Mandiant and SlowMist to support an independent investigation. It also restored its Protection Fund to more than USD $300 million by the end of the quarter, earlier than originally planned.

Security changes introduced during the period included a circuit breaker mechanism, a larger security budget and a SlowMist assessment. Bitget also said its proof of reserves ratio remained above 110%.

The report comes as exchanges compete to attract users seeking access to both crypto markets and products tied to conventional financial assets. Cross-asset structures have become a key area of focus as platforms try to keep traders within a single-account environment.

Bitget said it now serves more than 125 million users. Its broader offering includes crypto tokens, tokenised stocks, exchange-traded funds, commodities, foreign exchange and precious metals.

Gracy Chen, Chief Executive Officer of Bitget, linked the quarter's growth to changing trading patterns across asset classes.

"We're seeing more traders move between crypto, stocks and traditional assets, and that's why we are building a Universal Exchange," Chen said.

Chen also addressed the company's security priorities after the incident during the quarter.

"Q3 showed strong growth, but it also reminded us that protecting our users must remain our biggest priority as we expand," Chen said.
